About

Seoul Doula

I came to Korea in 2003 with my husband. My son Evan was born in Seoul, and after that experience I began to look into childbirth options to help other families in Korea. Working with women and families as they transition into parenthood for the first, second, third or tenth time is always a challenging, rewarding experience. I am continually inspired as I watch mothers rise up to the challenges in front of them with confidence in their bodies and in themselves.dscn3644.jpg

I became a Certified Childbirth Educator and Doula with Childbirth International
(CBI)
and have been working with the expat community in the Greater Seoul Area since 2008. I have been certified as a HypnoBirthing practitioner since July 2009. I provide English Childbirth classes, HypnoBirthing classes, Labour, Breastfeeding, and Postpartum support.

My goal is to provide evidence based information and resources so that parents can make informed decisions, therefor helping parents have satisfying, empowering birth experiences here in Korea. I am dedicated to guiding parents through the maze of options in Korea, as well as supporting them through the journey of pregnancy, childbirth and those first tender weeks after.

I believe that:

Birth is a safe, normal, natural process.
• Woman’s bodies are designed to birth easily and comfortably with little assistance.
• Women should have the right to choose where and how they birth their babies.
• Birth can be a very powerful, transforming, experience.
• Women can approach their birth with confidence rather than fear.
• Women have the right to personalized support and care during their pregnancy and birth, free of fear.
• Regardless of the type of birth a couple chooses to have, if they are well informed and willing to take responsibility for their decisions it can be an empowering experience.
